Excellent welcome from both the staff and the owners, I highly recommend it, very nice view over the rooftops from the room!
A very nice hotel right in the center of Laval and easily accessible. We were greeted by pleasant, smiling, and competent staff. The room was clean and well-equipped. The temperature was just right despite the heat... No complaints whatsoever!
The Best Western Hotel de Paris, on Rue de la Paix in Laval, has become a favorite stop for us during our regular trips across France. From booking by phone to departure, everything is simple, smooth, and pleasant. Sadly, that's becoming increasingly rare these days.
The welcome is always warm, whether on arrival or whenever we encounter a member of staff during our stay (I've saved the best anecdote for last!). I almost hesitate to mention their private parking lot, as I fear it might be even more popular… Yet we've always managed to find a space. It's easy to access, even on a first visit. A big thank you also to the person who answers the phone: always friendly, efficient, and responsive.
All the rooms we've stayed in were impeccably clean, quiet (thanks to high-performance double glazing), comfortable, modern, and perfectly air-conditioned. The showers also deserve a special mention: their mist showerheads are particularly pleasant, offering a gentle yet effective shower. If they're also water-efficient, that's an excellent bonus. Pets are also welcome, which is a real plus.
Breakfast is particularly comprehensive: eggs, cold cuts, cheeses, pastries, various fresh breads, dairy products, compotes, butter and jams, fresh fruit, almonds, walnuts, raisins, cereals, coffees, teas, freshly squeezed orange juice… and I'm sure I'm forgetting something. It's hard to imagine anything better!
Another welcome feature: just steps from the hotel, the café La Terrasse stays open late into the evening. The atmosphere is friendly and lively, and the food is very good. It's an excellent place to pleasantly extend your day without having to get back in the car.
Finally, the owners demonstrate absolutely exceptional dedication. Once, Madame went to the pharmacy herself to get me some medicine. Another time, Monsieur went to great lengths to fix my car himself. I must be dreaming…

The location is good, the room is decent, however, there was a major problem with the heat. I was told there was air conditioning, but it barely worked. The experience was very bad. It would be more honest to say there's no air conditioning at all.
Ah was expecting a fair bit more from Best Western Hotel de Paris, especially for the pretty steep price of over €150 for one night.
The room was on the small side and looked out onto the street with a net curtain for privacy. There was an armchair and a standard double bed, but it still felt quite cramped.
Noise from both the corridor (thin door) and the room above (thin ceiling) was really bad, which was surprising given they advertise soundproofing.
The shower wasn’t just annoying, it was actually quite dangerous. Standing in the bath was already slippy, but once shampoo and soap were involved it became properly risky. I ended up putting a towel down just to stop myself slipping and hurting myself horribly — and that’s no exaggeration.
On top of that, the shower head was unusual, firing out a really forceful jet of air mixed wi watter that was nearly sore and quite messy too, since there was only a small bit of glass and no curtain.
Fair enough, I was there during the heatwave, but the air conditioning wouldn’t go below 23°C no matter what. I left it on all night and still ended up feeling sticky and uncomfortable.
To be fair, the staff were really friendly and easy to deal with and there were free sweeties at reception.
Also, with the windows shut, the street noise was barely noticeable thanks to the triple glazing and the blackout blinds did a good job keeping the light out.
Still, I wouldn’t be going back, regardless of the price.
