Le Best Western Hotel de Paris, rue de la Paix à Laval, est devenu pour nous une étape de cœur lors de nos traversées régulières de la France. De la réservation par téléphone jusqu'au départ, tout est simple, fluide et agréable. C'est malheureusement devenu de plus en plus rare de nos jours.

L'accueil est toujours chaleureux, que ce soit à l'arrivée ou à chaque fois que nous croisons un membre du personnel pendant notre séjour (je garde la meilleure anecdote pour la fin !). J'hésiterais presque à vous parler de leur parking privé, tant je redoute qu'il soit encore plus prisé… Nous y avons pourtant toujours trouvé une place. Son accès est simple, même lors d'une première visite. Un grand bravo également à la personne qui répond au téléphone : toujours aimable, efficace et réactive.

Toutes les chambres que nous avons occupées étaient impeccablement propres, calmes (grâce à un double vitrage très performant), confortables, modernes et parfaitement climatisées. Les douches méritent aussi une mention spéciale : leur pommeau brumisateur est particulièrement agréable, offrant une sensation douce tout en restant efficace. S'il est en plus économe en eau, c'est une excellente idée. Les animaux de compagnie sont également les bienvenus, ce qui est un vrai plus.

Le petit-déjeuner est particulièrement complet : œufs, charcuterie, fromages, viennoiseries, différents pains frais, produits laitiers, compotes, beurre et confitures, fruits frais, amandes, noix, raisins secs, céréales, cafés, thés, jus d'orange pressé… et j'en oublie certainement. Difficile de faire mieux !

Autre atout appréciable : à quelques pas de l'hôtel, le café La Terrasse reste ouvert tard dans la soirée. L'ambiance y est conviviale et animée, et la cuisine est de très bonne qualité. C'est une excellente adresse pour prolonger agréablement la journée sans avoir à reprendre la voiture.

Enfin, les propriétaires font preuve d'un dévouement absolument exceptionnel. Une fois, Madame est allée elle-même à la pharmacie pour me rapporter de quoi me soigner. Une autre fois, Monsieur s'est donné beaucoup de mal pour dépanner ma voiture de ses propres mains. Je crois encore rêver…

The location is good, the room is decent, however, there was a major problem with the heat. I was told there was air conditioning, but it barely worked. The experience was very bad. It would be more honest to say there's no air conditioning at all.

Ah was expecting a fair bit more from Best Western Hotel de Paris, especially for the pretty steep price of over €150 for one night.

The room was on the small side and looked out onto the street with a net curtain for privacy. There was an armchair and a standard double bed, but it still felt quite cramped.

Noise from both the corridor (thin door) and the room above (thin ceiling) was really bad, which was surprising given they advertise soundproofing.

The shower wasn’t just annoying, it was actually quite dangerous. Standing in the bath was already slippy, but once shampoo and soap were involved it became properly risky. I ended up putting a towel down just to stop myself slipping and hurting myself horribly — and that’s no exaggeration.

On top of that, the shower head was unusual, firing out a really forceful jet of air mixed wi watter that was nearly sore and quite messy too, since there was only a small bit of glass and no curtain.

Fair enough, I was there during the heatwave, but the air conditioning wouldn’t go below 23°C no matter what. I left it on all night and still ended up feeling sticky and uncomfortable.

To be fair, the staff were really friendly and easy to deal with and there were free sweeties at reception.

Also, with the windows shut, the street noise was barely noticeable thanks to the triple glazing and the blackout blinds did a good job keeping the light out.

Still, I wouldn’t be going back, regardless of the price.

We stayed at the Hôtel de Paris on June 4th and have wonderful memories of it.

The rooms were perfect: spacious, very clean, comfortable, and fully equipped. Everything was in place for a pleasant night in a calm and elegant setting.

We would like to commend all the staff for their warm welcome, helpfulness, and professionalism. A big thank you also to the owners, who are incredibly kind, very approachable, and always attentive to their guests' well-being. Their hospitality adds real value to this establishment.
It's a hotel where you immediately feel at ease and where customer satisfaction is a priority. We highly recommend this hotel and will gladly return on our next trip to Laval.
